Condition Monitoring Report
Station Number: RI-PR-135
Station Name: Pascoag 0.5 SSW
Report Date: 6/14/2025
Submitted: 6/14/2025 6:55 AM
Scale Bar: Near Normal
Description:
With 1.09” of rain this week conditions remain near normal although leaning towards mildly wet. The Pascoag Reservoir remains at 9’2” and is slightly overflowing the spillway. Yellow water lilies bloomed near the state boat ramp earlier this week but are relatively few in number compared to previous years. We have also yet to see any turtles there which is odd. For many years we would see 15-20 turtles sunning themselves on rocks and fallen trees, but last year we would see 3-4 at most and this year there are none. With the lower amount of water lilies it makes me wonder what has changed. Did something change 2 years ago that is affecting water quality upstream on Brandy Brook? The lawn continues to grow at a rapid pace for mid June, typically it would be slowing down by down. Local song birds continue their happy chatter and the blue heron is a frequent sight on the lake. Clear River water district remains on an odd/even day outdoor water use restriction but hopefully will be lifting that later this summer when water use needs go down. George Washington state park continues to post a Low fire danger.
