Notes
Woke up to wind gust and light show at 1:50am. Rain started 1:58, quickly progressed into torrential downpour...hail at 2:07am. Could see white on the brown fields in lightning flashes. Pebble-sized but piled up in areas. Digital gauge read 1.62 at 2:19am when it slacked off. Hail lasted maybe 3 mins in there. Started again at 2:29am and surged off and on until after 3am. I fell asleep again. Saw weird swirling rain by our security light pole during the first deluge which had strongest gusts. Woke up at 6am, another shower at 615am giving another 0.1". Lake has formed, creeks are overflowing, frog chorus is deafening out there. Ground is firm with just surface greasiness. I am confident our dams are full now despite the drought we've been in.
