Notes: There were far too many dents in the hail pad to make an assessment of hail pad information. The depth of hail on the ground was a single layer of varying depth (by size of hail). The hail started very gently and spotty (a plink here and a plink there for a few minutes). Then it slowly increased in intensity and hail size. It stopped rather abruptly after the most intense part of the hail storm. The larger hail stones were very jagged. They were more like chunks of ice than rounded globes. Just to give you a feel for the intensity of the storm - it broke the funnel on my CoCoRaHS rain gauge. The rain gauge showed about 0.25" rain accompanying the hail storm.
