Notes: |
For the first two minutes there was more hail than rain. Then a damaging wet downburst took place. I estimated gusts 70-80 mph, and instruments around Norman recorded 66 to 82 mph winds. I am guessing there was both rain and hail during the downburst, but visibility went to zero. The view out the back door was opaque with precipitation. After the worst was over, rain and hail continued with more rain than hail. Additional updrafts on the first storm's outflow resulted in two additional falls of small hail over the next 45 minutes to an hour. |
