I forgot to file this along with my report for 18 June 2016. This hail occurred during the thunderstorm we had yesterday evening. I was in my tin-roofed barn to sit out the storm with my 2 pet pigs and dog because lightning scares them - and boy did we have lightning - and heard the hail hitting the roof some time after the storm began. I didn't record the time because I didn't have my watch on and my phone was in the house, but it was probably an hour before sundown, give or take. As for the hail itself, I only saw a few pieces in the dripline of the barn roof and it was raining so hard the hail was swept out into the yard almost immediately. It appeared to be about 3/8" in diameter. The hail event was brief and intermittent. |
