NW isolated storm preceeded coldfront droping temp 71 to 50F.Booming thunder preceeded large rain drops followed by heavy rain transforming to heavy rain with pea size hail, peaking with heavier rain with 1/2 and pea hail several lightning flashes.All hail round and smooth and clear except initial hail had white core some with a white ring.Event ended with heavy rain and pea size hail followed with two to three min light rain for a total precipitation 0.84 inches in 28 minuates.About storm midpoint, the funnel was removed to catch hail. However, zero hail was observed in guage at storm end.No hail pad however observed 3/8 inch average between clean spots on dirty car roof and hood. |
