Notes: |
The hail came down rather hard, then harder before letting up. The ground began to turn white. It was hard to find any hail to examine, because it melted so quickly, within a minute or less. The car windshield was the only place in which it accumulated so that I could pick up a sample. The size of the hail was what I would call smaller than rice, say not more than 1/10th to 1/12th of and inch in diameter. Nothing on the Portland radar to indicate a storm over the top of McCully Mountain. |
