Notes: |
Severe WX passed thru ~11:40pm - ~12:00am.
Hail size ranged from 1/4" to 1/2" and hit at 11:50pm, lasting around 4 minutes.
Estimated spacing between impacts as viewed through sliding rear deck door was ~2 - 3"max.
spacing between 1/2" hail was quite sparse, maybe a few feet.
Believe we noticed some rotation occurring, based on trees blowing o9ne direction on one side of the house and the other direction on the other side. NOAA WX box stated that there was rotation believed with the storm.
Hail fell straight down when the wind wasn't blowing hard, but there were gusts where the hail was perhaps at 45 degrees as evidenced by angles of bounce from glass to deck and from deck to glass. Damage seems limited to a lot of loosened sand/gravel on asphalt roof shingles. Called NWS at 866 763 4466 to report hail, probably past midnight. |
