Intense downpour began at 8:55 p.m. and was immediately followed by penny-sized and pea-sized hail. Hail pad showed 5-8 strikes per square inch. Grass areas were covered by marble sized hail. Hail quickly melted on pavements. Storm was part of a predicted line of thunderstorms moving southeast acrosss the region. Storm was very noisy. There was considerable thunder and lightning. Hail was followed by hard rain. Hail fell for five minutes. Precipitation dcame down at the rate of 1.5 inches per hour. |
