Owner was away for 2 weeks. Housesitter collected hail pads and replaced them after two storms. She did not record times of rainfall. Times given are estimated from neighbor's automatic weather station 1/2 mile east. (KCOGOLDE14). That station showed .07 in precip. between 3:00 and 3:45 PM. A bigger storm added .17 in between 8:10 and 9:30 PM for a total of 0.24 in.
Upon returning from a trip on 07/20, I found .17 in in the rain gauge. From comparison with nearby stations, I estimate that my rain gauge should have seen .21 in of precipitation in that period. It just shows how highly variable front range weather is. |
