"Rice" is too big a descriptor. This was the finest hail I've ever seen: stones were round, with a diameter equal to the thickness (not the length) of a rice grain. Would have taken 4 or 5 stones side by side to equal a grain of rice. Covered the ground, and quickly melted into something resembling a massive slice of warmed mozzarella cheese. |
