Distance between hailstones (large & small) was about 2 inches. No hail pad. Noted large hail stones were clear ice in the center surrounded by white ice. Also appeared that the stone had broken before it hit the ground. None of the large stones were round; it was as though these collided on the way down and split. I was looking at a hail stone cross-section! |
